History :
Did you know hand axes have been around for 1.8 million years!! That's 1.2 million years BEFORE people.
Double headed axes have primarily been used as Felling Axes and were especially popular in the 1800's. As weapons they were used mainly with a spike on one side rather than two blades, this allowed them to be used against heavily armoured adversaries.
Care instructions:
•Carbon steel will rust so please use oil after use. I recommend Mineral Oil as it can be used on the handle and leather sheath too, veg oil can also be used.
• If stored in leather sheath, oil and then wrap in plastic, clingfilm works great. This is to prevent rusting.
