History of the Ferro Rod:

Ferrocerium is an amalgamation of metals that produce sparks up to 5500 degrees F, invented in Germany by a scientist called Carl Auer in 1903. Since then they are now a MUST have piece of equipment for all survival or bushcraft scenarios.
