Odin's Tankard — Hand-Carved Viking Drinking Horn Mug

A tankard fit for the Allfather himself. Odin's Tankard is hand-carved with Odin seated on his throne, surrounded by his legendary animal companions — Huginn and Muninn, his ravens of thought and memory, and Geri and Freki, his wolves who guard the borders of Valhalla against the giants.

Horns in History

Drinking horns were used throughout Europe by Vikings, Greeks, Romans, Germanic tribes and Saxons up to around the 12th century. Horn tankards and mugs are a more recent concept but have become iconic through Game of Thrones, Vikings, and The Lord of the Rings.

Care Instructions

• Rinse with warm soapy water after each use
• Towel or air dry completely before storing
• Apply a food-grade oil such as mineral oil periodically
• If persistent odour, soak with white vinegar and water for a couple of hours
• Do not use a dishwasher or hot water
