We all know of the Thor, the God of Thunder, but did you know who is destined to kill him? Jörmungandr is the Midgard Serpent from Norse mythology who encircles the world. He is the son of Loki and the giantess Angrboða. At Ragnarök, the Twilight of the Gods, he slays and is slain by the god Thor which is depicted on this Ox Horn Drinking Tankard.

Drinking Horns in History:
Drinking horns were used throughout Europe (Viking, Greek, Roman, Germanic Tribes and Saxons) up to around the 12th Century where pottery starts to become more wide spread. Mugs and Tankards are a modern concept, widely seen in TV & Film such as Game of Thrones, Lord of The Rings and Vikings
How To Clean A Horn Tankard:
Rinse with warm soapy water
Allow to dry completely
Apply a food grade oil, mineral or veg oil is OK
If you notice a persistent odour soak with White Vinegar and Water for a couple of hours.
DO NOT DISHWASHER or use hot water.
