Plain Pine - Cheapest option, leather hinges and Hasp.
Plain Hardwood - Ash - HW. leather hinges and hasp. Metal Hinges and Clasp or Mastermyr Lock can be added.
HW Carved 2 Sides - Any design you want, just let me know. Includes metal hinges and hasp.
Oak Mastermyr - Oak with metal hinges and the Mastermyr No1 replica Lock. Made as close to the original find as possible.

You can also add metal hinges, Mastermyr, padlock and go fully carved. Message me for quotes and additional options.

Mastermyr Sea Chest Measurements:

Made to Measure - Typically these are 90cm x 25 x 25, the 'legs' are usually 8cm but can be made longer to use the chest as a bench.
These can be tailored to suit the items you need to store or the space in your vehicle. Just message me for a quote.

Sea Chest History:

There are numerous finds with regards to this style of Sea Chest, the Oseberg Ship burial and from the Hedeby Harbour discovery have smaller versions. The Mastermyr chest is thought to of been owned by a very unlucky craftsman who was navigating a bogland and lost his gear! It was found with some beautiful tools and locks.
Each side uses different cuts to add strength, this was needed as this all in one piece of furniture was used as Luggage, Rowing Benches and being thrown around on board Longships in the North Sea!
