These are my favourite things to make. They're what gets me the most attention at festivals and markets, and they're what built my social media following to over 20,000 people. When someone sees one of these in person, they stop.
Every shield is made entirely for you. I'll work closely with you on the design — every element hand-drawn, then hand-carved. No computer-printed designs, no machine carving, no lasers. Just craftsmanship.
I've carved dragons, the Leviathan World Serpent, album covers (including the Sex Pistols' Anarchy in the UK), family crests, pride of lions representing family members, pets, significant quotes, and much more. If you can describe it, I can carve it.

Shields in History
Shields have been used for tens of thousands of years — made from bark, wood, hide, and metal. The Viking round shield was used from 300AD to 1100AD, before cavalry warfare began to change their shape. Viking shields were laminated so that any strike always hit against the grain — the same method I use today.
Care Instructions
- Oil with mineral oil or a clear finishing oil approximately every 6 months
- Wood will dry and crack if not maintained
- Avoid hanging above a radiator
