These striking bone dice feature the classic ring and dot pattern — one of the oldest decorative motifs in human history, found on Viking-age artefacts across Scandinavia and the British Isles. Hand-carved from real bone in my workshop in South Wales, not plastic, not resin — the real thing.

The Ring and Dot Pattern

The ring and dot — a circle with a central point — appears on Viking combs, knife handles, and gaming pieces from the 8th to 11th centuries. It was one of the most common decorative motifs of the age, simple to carve but deeply satisfying. On dice, it served as both decoration and number marker, giving each face its own character.
