A little history: One of the most magnificent finds from the Viking Age is the axe from the grave at Mammen, Denmark. The Mammen carving style was named after this find and arose in the 900s, surviving until around 1000 AD. The motifs can be interpreted as both Christian and pagan — a fascinating window into the Viking world.

Care Instructions:

• Carbon steel will rust — oil after use. Mineral oil is recommended
• If stored for any length of time, oil then wrap in plastic (clingfilm works great) to prevent rusting
