A little history: The most famous of hammers is Mjölnir, the war hammer of Thor, made by the Dwarfs with a shorter than normal handle due to Loki's mischief. Hammers have been used throughout history as both tools and weapons — even giving their name to Judah Maccabee and Charles Martel, one of the rulers of France.

Care Instructions:

• Damascus steel will rust — oil after use. Mineral oil is recommended as it works on the handle too
• If stored for any length of time, oil then wrap in plastic (clingfilm works great) to prevent rusting
