An authentic Viking and Anglo-Saxon style spear head — hand forged in 5160 carbon steel and made blunt for re-enactment use. Viking Society compliant and ready for the shield wall.

Based on multiple historical finds, this leaf-shaped spear head suits almost every re-enactment era — from early Roman through to Medieval and Viking. The timeless design has barely changed in thousands of years, and for good reason.

This listing is for the spear head only. If you'd like one fitted with a handle, send me a message — I typically fit an ash handle and price depends on size and postage.

A Bit of History

Care Instructions

  • Carbon steel will rust — oil after every use. Mineral oil works on both the head and any handle or sheath.
  • If storing for any length of time, oil then wrap in clingfilm to prevent rust.
