Small but mighty. The Skeggox hatchet is the lightest axe in my range, but don't let that fool you — those curves are something else, and the 5160 carbon steel head is as sharp and durable as anything I make.

Perfect if you want something compact for camping and bushcraft, or a smaller customised piece that's easier to carry to events. I can carve any design you want — from Nordic knotwork to Iron Maiden themes. Literally anything.

A Bit of History

The Skeggox — from the Old Norse "Skegg" (beard) and "Ox" (axe) — was the everyday axe of the Viking Age. Compact and affordable at a time when metal was expensive, it was the tool most Vikings actually carried.

Care Instructions

• Carbon steel will rust — oil after every use. Mineral oil works on the steel, handle, and sheath.
• If storing in the leather sheath, oil first then wrap in clingfilm to prevent rust.
