A Brief History of Dice

Dice predate written history, believed to have evolved from fortune-telling with knucklebones. Found across the ancient world — Egypt from 4000 BCE, Iran from 2800–2500 BCE, and Skara Brae in Scotland from 3100–2400 BCE. These dice are styled directly from finds at Viking burial grounds in Gotland and Uppland, Sweden.
