Size and Style

Thor and the giant Hymir row out to sea. Thor baits his hook with an ox head. What takes it is Jörmungandr — the Midgard Serpent, so vast it encircles the entire earth and bites its own tail. Thor hauls it to the surface, Mjölnir raised, eyes locked on the serpent’s. The two greatest enemies in Norse mythology, face to face above the water.

Hymir panics and cuts the line. Jörmungandr sinks back into the deep. They will meet again at Ragnarök — and that time, neither will walk away. Thor will slay the serpent and take nine steps before the venom takes him.

That moment of tension — the raised hammer, the serpent breaking the surface, the line about to be cut — is carved on this horn.

Horns in History

Drinking horns were used throughout Europe — by Vikings, Greeks, Romans, Germanic tribes, and Saxons — up to around the 12th century, when pottery became more widespread. Raising a horn is raising a piece of living history.

Care Instructions

  • Rinse with warm soapy water after each use
  • Towel or air dry completely before storing
  • Apply a food-grade oil such as mineral oil periodically
  • If persistent odour, soak with white vinegar and water for a couple of hours
  • Do not use a dishwasher or hot water
