I bought several sets of the hinges and locks for some Norse style chests I was making. All I can say is this craftsman is excellent, the hinges work really well and are in keeping with my project. The lock and key is to the same superb standard, work well and really finish a sea chest off perfectly. I'm very happy with my purchases, fast delivery and well packaged. Excellent value for money considering the work that must go into these items.

About the Oseberg Style
The Oseberg 178 style is based on finds from the Oseberg ship burial and the Hedeby Harbour discovery, with construction very similar to the larger Mastermyr chest. What sets a sea chest apart from a simple box is the joinery — each side uses different cuts to add strength, because these were used as luggage, rowing benches, and general furniture on Viking longships crossing the North Sea.
Perfect For
- Home display and decoration
- Storage for tools, craft items, or valuables
- Viking and Anglo-Saxon reenactment
- A genuinely unique piece of furniture

Beautiful chest, absolutely chuffed with it. Already stocked it with some beverages and going to put my Celtic & Germanic jewellery chest inside it to fit the theme! Absolutely awesome purchase!
