Small Horn Mug — Bushman Design

Small but very mighty! I love these little horn mugs — the design is my own Bushman character, based on ancient Nordic carvings, and it's probably the most characterful little drinking vessel you'll ever own.

At around 150ml, these are perfect for everyday use — a morning shot of something warming, a dram of whisky, or just drinking in style while everyone else uses boring glasses. The handle can be clipped onto a belt or bag, making it the ideal festival and reenactment companion.

A Short History of Drinking Horns

Drinking horns have been used for tens of thousands of years — likely even before recorded history. Evidence throughout Europe dates back to 6,000 BC, with finds from Greek, Roman, Celtic and Viking cultures. They remained in common use until the 12th century, and continued as symbols of office for nobles, clergy and guildsmen long after.

Care Instructions

  • Rinse with warm, soapy water after each use
  • Towel or air dry completely before storing
  • Apply a food-grade oil (mineral oil recommended) periodically
  • Stick to cold drinks only
  • For stubborn stains or odours, a baking soda paste or vinegar soak can help
  • Do not use a dishwasher or hot water

Hand wash only. Cold drinks only. Full care instructions included with your order. Each horn is unique as a natural product.
