I bought several sets of the hinges and locks for some Norse style chests I was making. All I can say is this craftsman is excellent, the hinges work really well and are in keeping with my project. The lock and key is to the same superb standard, work well and really finish a sea chest off perfectly. I'm very happy with my purchases, fast delivery and well packaged. Excellent value for money considering the work that must go into these items.

Viking Drinking Horn — The Edda
Viking Drinking Horn — The Edda
Couldn't load pickup availability
This is not a single carving — it is a horn covered from rim to tip with scenes drawn from Viking Age sources and the Poetic Edda. Celtic knotwork, boars, wolves, hunting scenes, and Viking figures wind their way around the entire surface. Every inch has been considered.
The stand is bespoke — a hand forged spiral holder with a leaf pattern at the end, made specifically for this horn. It is a display piece as much as a drinking vessel.
Designed by Paul at Bushman Survival and crafted to his specification.
About the Poetic Edda
The Poetic Edda is a collection of Old Norse poems, preserved in the 13th century Icelandic manuscript known as the Codex Regius, but drawing on oral traditions stretching back centuries into the Viking Age. It contains the great mythological poems — the Völuspá (the prophecy of the seeress), the Hávamál (the words of the High One, Odin's own wisdom), the Lokasenna, the Thýrimsól — alongside heroic lays of Sigurd, Brynhildr, and the fall of the Niflungs. It is the single most important source for Norse mythology and Viking Age belief. The carvings on this horn draw from that world.
