A Viking drinking horn hand-carved with Odin's ravens, Huginn and Muninn — Thought and Memory. One of the most iconic symbols in Norse mythology, beautifully rendered on a large natural horn.

Designed by Paul at Bushman Survival and crafted to his specification.

"Huginn and Muninn
Fly every day
Over all the world;
I worry for Huginn
That he might not return,
But I worry more for Muninn."

Horns in History

Drinking horns were used throughout Europe — by Vikings, Greeks, Romans, Germanic tribes, and Saxons — up to around the 12th century, when pottery became more widespread. Raising a horn is raising a piece of living history.

Care Instructions

  • Rinse with warm soapy water after each use
  • Towel or air dry completely before storing
  • Apply a food-grade oil such as mineral oil periodically
  • If persistent odour, soak with white vinegar and water for a couple of hours
  • Do not use a dishwasher or hot water

As a natural product, each horn varies slightly in size, shape and colour. Full care instructions included with your order.
