A life-sized wooden Viking seax, hand-carved from solid hardwood and made in South Wales. The seax was the everyday knife of the Viking Age — carried by everyone from farmers to jarls, used for everything from preparing food to self-defence. It was a mark of status and practicality in equal measure.

These are solid enough for martial arts practice and knife defence training, and light enough for younger enthusiasts too.

About the Seax

In Norse culture, the seax was the sign of a free person. Unlike a sword, which was a luxury, the seax was universal — practical, personal, and always at hand. Viking-age seaxes ranged from small utility knives to large fighting blades. This one captures the form of the larger fighting seax, made safe in hardwood.
